The Knewstubb occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 1400 metres on the east side of an east-west–trending ridge, approximately 11 kilometres south of the east end of Knewstubb Lake.

The area is underlain by fine to coarse clastic sedimentary rocks of the Jurassic Nechako and Ashman formations, volcanic rocks of the Jurassic Naglico and Nechako formations (all Hazelton Group) and undivided volcanic rocks of the Jurassic Fawnie volcanics (Bowser Lake Group). Late Cretaceous to Miocene stocks and plugs intrude the strata.

Locally, an iron-carbonate–altered micro-diorite hosts minor malachite and azurite on fracture plains.

Work History

In 2010, Kinross Gold Corp collected 8 rock samples and 137 silts samples along selected drainages for analysis. One rock sample (NPK10R009) assayed 1.3 grams per tonne silver and 0.12 per cent copper (Assessment Report 32289).

In 2014, Misty Creek Ventures completed a program of rock, silt, and soil sampling on the area as the Earhorn property.
